Gluing the plates...

I had a homebuilt plate joining jig designed to keep those delicate parts in line and snug during gluing, but I had to toss it out when we left Denver. Rather than build it again, I thought I'd try just clamping up something on the new beam workbench that I've been using. This worked well. Little wood wedges are used to apply small amounts of pressure, and a caul is used in the center to keep the plates from buckling. Wax paper is underneath to keep make sure it doesn't get glued to the bench. The last picture shows the assembled sound board with the setting sun in back of it. No light coming through == good!
